IP to Company
Turn an IP address from your server logs into the organisation that owns it, using the free public RDAP registry data (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AFRINIC). No paid dataset, no API key.
Try it (this page answers from a sample of 11 real lookups made 2026-10-10; the kit looks up any IP live)
Pick an IP above.
Bulk: a log file in, a company column out
$ python ip2company.py --csv visitors.txt ip,org,network,country,range,error 8.8.8.8,"Google LLC",GOGL,,8.8.8.0/24, 1.1.1.1,"APNIC Research and Development",APNIC-LABS,AU,1.1.1.0/24, 140.82.112.3,"GitHub, Inc.",GITHU,,140.82.112.0/20, 13.107.42.14,"Microsoft Corporation",MSFT,,13.64.0.0/11 13.96.0.0/13 13.104.0.0/14,Also:
python ip2company.py --serve 8080 runs a small JSON API on your own machine (loopback only) (GET /lookup?ip=), with a lookup cache and back-off on registry rate limits.
What it tells you, honestly
- It returns the registered owner of the IP block. For a company with its own network that is the company. For anyone on home broadband, mobile, or a cloud host, it is the ISP or cloud provider, not the person's employer.
- That is why commercial "reveal the visitor's company" APIs license proprietary data. This kit does not; it is the free, accurate-for-what-it-is layer.
